Outreach

Following the festival run of Umbilical Cords at Encounters South African International Film Festival and the Durban International Film Festival, it is our hope that the film can journey through peoples hearts through community screenings and discussions, in South Africa and internationally.

We have been partnering with different individuals and organisations to build spaces where individuals and groups can engage in discussion around parenting, relationship, love and family, in a safe and healing way.

If you who would like to help organise a community or home screening, or if you are a psychologist, counselor or organisation interested in using Umbilical Cords as a tool in your work, please get in touch.

You can email us at umbilicalcords@gmail.com and we will get back to you.

You can also support our outreach campaign at www.paypal.com by making a donation to umbilicalcords@gmail.com

If you are interested in or have been affected by the issues raised in the film, the following organisations offer psychological services to individuals and families:

FAMSA (Families South Africa) offers services to support individuals, families, organisations, communities and society to build, restore and sustain functional relationships. Services include counseling, social work and community development.

  1. My daughter saw the doc in Cape Town- she said it was so profound for her and she really wanted her sisters and I to go and see it.
Unfortunately we are unable to go to the public screenings in July!
Is it possible to make a plan to see the doc privately in Johannesburg at some stage?
    Pam

    • Hi Pam!
Oh so wonderful to hear your daughter enjoyed it – it’s screening on the 23rd June at the Bioscope in Joburg, but then I’m sure we can organise something for you to see it another time – what is your email address? send it to me at umbilicalcords@gmail.com and we can make a plan…
      Thanks for getting in touch!
      Sarah
